If you say, that you don’t want me,
Thats ok, i’m gonna get ya anyway,
If you think, you can avoid me,
that’s alright, cos i don’t mind a little fight.
Word is out, that your’e not gettin’ served,
The way that both of us know you deserve,
There’s no doubt (there’s no doubt)
That i know what you need,
If you wanna come just come with me.
I am just a guy, you are just a girl,
All i know is i just wanna rock world,
And all i have to say, i hope that its ok,
[CHORUS]
Gonna be blood,sweat n tears,
Gonna be hard work n fears,
But i aint gonna stop no never stop till i got you,
Gonna be sunshine n rain,
Gonna be pleasure n pain,
But i aint gonna stop no never stop till i got you.
Listen up, please believe me,
When i claim to be the lover that you want (alright)
Check this out, i got a feelin’,
That it’s gonna be you and me, you know i’m right,
You are just a girl, and i am just a guy,
Who does appreciate the finer things in life,
And this i swear to you, every word is true,
[chorus x2]
V was a UK five-piece boy band consisting of:
- Antony Thomas Brant, (born 18 January 1983)
- Aron Buckingham, (born 7 July 1983)
- Mark Harle, (born 8 November 1983)
- Kevin McDaid, (born 7 March 1984)
- Leon Pisani, (born 25 December 1985)
Lead singer Antony Brant came up with the band name “V” because V is the Roman numeral for five and there were five members in the band. V made their debut at the same time as McFly by supporting Busted’s arena tour in the spring of 2004.
Their first single, “Blood Sweat & Tears”, was released in May 2004 went into the official UK singles chart at number 6. The video was shot in Miami in February 2004 and the single contained a collaboration with their friends McFly, called “Chills in the Evening” written by Tom Fletcher from McFly and James Bourne from Busted. The band’s second single, released in the August 2004, was a double A-side consisting of a new song “Hip To Hip” and a cover of the Jackson Five’s song “Can You Feel It” (with a memorable video consisting of the band dressed as a double glazing salesman, ice cream man, postman, milkman and paperboy) and charted at number 5 in the UK official singles chart.
The third single, “You Stood Up” made #12 in the charts after an appearance on Top of The Pops, but their debut album of the same name failed to reach the Top 75 album charts. In February 2005, V announced their decision to split on their website.
In August 2005, Mark Feehily of Westlife announced that he is gay and that he is currently in a relationship with V band member Kevin McDaid. In July 2006, band member Aaron Buckingham also announced he is gay in a guest column in Attitude Magazine. Mark Harle is a now the drummer for Freerunner, an indie band. He also drums for indie band ‘Little Comets’.
According to their MySpace profiles, as of June 2007, Kevin was a photographer and Aaron was singing in theatre shows in the United States.
In 2006, Kevin appeared on the pannel show Never Mind the Buzzcocks, in the line up. Phill Jupitus’ team (including Tom Fletcher (McFly) and Alan Carr) managed to guess correctly who he was.
